As nurses and parents, we understand how important infant feeding is to each family's physical and mental health. Meeting your feeding goals is our mission! Living on Martha's Vineyard presents unique challenges to accessing complete and thorough feeding support. The Breastfeeding Network has been a volunteer service aiming to fill that gap for decades, and we're proud to continue the mission to provide free and holistic care to island families.
For prenatal education, we offer a workshop on Preparing to Breastfeed every 3 months at the MV Family Center. Registering is helpful because dinner is provided, but we welcome drop-ins as well! For postpartum support, we offer monthly workshops, again at the MV Family Center, on Pumping & Returning to Work and Common Challenges. In addition, we attend Baby's First Year on the first Thursday of each month to offer support and answer questions.
